Submissions for the 2017 festival are closed
Official selections for the 2017 festival will be announced on March 20, 2017.
Submissions for the 9th annual festival will open August 2017. The Hill Country Film Festival accepts shorts (recommended <30 minutes) and feature films (recommended between 90 – 120 minutes) and hosts a Short Screenplay (10 pages or less) and Feature Screenplay competition (70 – 125 pages).
The Hill Country Film Festival recognizes exceptional filmmaking in twelve categories.
Cash prizes will be given to winners of the festival’s Cinema Dulce – Best of Fest ($1,500) and Best Texas Film ($1,000) awards sponsored by Texas’ premier boutique winery Pedernales Cellars. Pedernales Cellars has a long-standing commitment of supporting the development of regional arts organizations, especially those with a strong educational mission.Through these awards, Pedernales Cellars looks to extend its support to include excellence in independent filmmaking for the benefit of the Texas Hill country community and beyond.
All award winners will receive a YETI Hopper, a personal, portable cooler. YETI is an innovative Texas-based company that developed coolers for everyday use.
